The first word in my question should have 'which'.Ch uses the most amount of water, washing dishes by hand, or using a dish washing machine?
Actually, they are both wrong!
In actuality, any dishwasher made in the last 15 years uses less water than hand washing dishes (as long as you are not the type that washes the dishes first, then uses the dishwasher), as long as you wash full loads and not 1/2 loads. You can save energy by not using the dry feature or the water heat setting.
Older washers use a lot more waterCh uses the most amount of water, washing dishes by hand, or using a dish washing machine?
Dishwasher, hands down. When you wash in the sink, you should have a sink full of soapy water and a sink full of rinse.
Also, there is a heating element, and a pump motor that use electricity.
But they sure are convenient!
Doesn't matter to me. I love my dishwasher!
Smart E is very wrong. A dishwasher uses less water, detergent and hotter water. Dishes washed in a dishwasher are sanitized.
