Can moths eggs be destroyed by hand washing?

Yesterday I bought a vintage dress that I discovered has moth holes in it. I hand washed it but am worried that it might still be carrying moth eggs. I do not want to put it in my closet and have moths destroy my other items.





Do you know if a hand washing can rid a garment of future moths???Can moths eggs be destroyed by hand washing?
Burn the dress and go to a hardware store and buy mothballs.Put them in your closets and drawers.
